Magret de canard as starters and...

It had to be red (seeing the amazing food that was awaiting us, courtesy of my husband). However, it´s not the time to be picky as my wines are stored with foil on them without a quality indication visible. Furthermore, I don´t even say if they are full body! So most of the time, let´s say it´s a question of being so lucky that the stars align. The result tonight - a full-bodied red that since you open it, shouts - Barossa Valley! I didn´t get the grapes right and their percentages in the blend, but knew that at some level it was a GSM.

It has a very attractive fruity perfume (red and dark) combined with savoury meat and spicy overtones. Tannins are high, but fine.

And the winner is... Two Hands-Brave Faces Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2012. Barossa Valley. 14.5%. $25
